Rather than seeing the houses drifting away, as some commented, I see them coming forward and landing... or maybe the same house getting closer. And the flower losing its petals... the passing of time. Great pastel colors.
Looked for your submission when I posted and didn't see it...
Oh, and the story to the 'remember' illustration. Somewhat sad, somewhat mournful, somewhat scary, somewhat surreal, somewhat forlorn, and somewhat hopeful- and somewhat not. (and it may say something somewhat different to someone else). (Could also have to do with Kansas? Sad event).
Great depth in more than one way- brilliant use of scale, color, design, and shapes.AndyDoodlerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02997244669356253586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21071545.post-77002538804238573032007-05-09T17:21:00.000-04:002007-05-09T17:21:00.000-04:00Oh Miri, fantastic illo! The red sky, floating houses
and colored hills looks like part of the solar system to me. The shadows on the houses and balcony are one of my favorite colors, that deep periwinkle which brings out magic whenever it's used! I like how you have the houses moving away, carrying the occupants or old neighbors with them. Hopefully they'll be blogging soon so they can keep in touch! Your work always makes me think in such a good way.studio lolohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15363808478293833466noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21071545.post-7707079533965429592007-05-09T17:03:00.000-04:002007-05-09T17:03:00.000-04:00sometimes a neighbor moves away and a new one come...sometimes a neighbor moves away and a new one comes along-or they will always be neighbors come what may....

.... this could be in the countryside.....the yellow covered hills looks like it is full of mustard plants.isay https://www.blogger.com/profile/10907698477268286311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21071545.post-57354206070056121602007-05-09T16:00:00.000-04:002007-05-09T16:00:00.000-04:00seems like the rose losing its leaves is symbolic ...seems like the rose losing its leaves is symbolic for lost freindships of neighbors.
