They were fatter , but I got hungry while painting this. I had to work fast, this piece just wouldn't have looked right with just the cores and seeds-they're too skinny.
The brush strokes seem to have an edible quality about them, quite bitey. Like the strands and streaks emanating from the friut. 'Spect everything's been eaten up by now.
These are gorgeous! I really like the agitated lines and strokes...is this becasue you were so hungry? The dark background gives this an old master's look, but you've given it a modern vibe...excellent job!
