Very interesting, cryptic piece. I get the feeling of an extreme close up of a book in the background. I like that there is room to interpret what is happening here.

Wow! freakin' awesome painting! Another one of my favorites now. Love the vantage pt.- reminds me of one of my favs Andrew Wyeth. Perfect composition/design! And a fortune in stories for the eyes. Woman with purse in doorway just got home or is leaving- sees figure(s) in bed.. the rest of story is up to viewers. I'm thinking now of "is the glass half empty or full?" thing- I always say it depends on whether one is filling it or emptying it- but I guess when I just walk in, and don't know what the process is - as here- I have to guess a positive or a negative- I guess a little of both. Did I just make no sense as usual...
Oh- hey - maybe Kaya's got it- someone's reading a book - w/a figure on its cover. Magic whatever the case.

I like the movement you give your hands... and the balance and size of the figure, on the side....

I see a guy coming home from work...looks like he has a gun in his hand...and the line coming out is the smoke from the gun...the one hand is female because of the fingernails but the other hand is lacking said fingernails...so I'm thinking someone got caught in a compromising position...and they got some vigilante justice...all that's left now is to hang a concrete pillar to their feet and feed em to the carp...now if both hands had the long fingernails I would say they belonged to the same person and a gentleman is coming home from work to find his lovely wife napping...so I vote for adding fingernails so as to help keep romance alive...

Your painting has nice auteurism , appropriate body language works well and explains it all, but exciting suspenser remains a widespread concern there. I think a lot of film writers and storytellers will be there, all kinds of drama will stimulate discussion, in a word, may be a good movie in the future!!

I love the way your paintings can be interpreted any number of ways, I see a crab, I see a sculpture, I see a hand, a surreal dreamscape, dreams of yearning. Wonderful stuff - your work always makes me wonder and think and goes beyond the obvious. Love it.

i can see love and how it affects our view about life in a positive way....and also could bring good fortune.....

i like the light in the hand and fingers...

This is dramatic and enigmatic, although I get the feeling that "fortune" is an ironic term here. The hands seem lifeless and the figure on the right seems frozen... I love that your paintings have a story to them, and often that story is a mystery for the viewr to unravel. Well done!

This guy is at a pivotal point in his life and his fortunes are definitely changing. The roof angle positively points out what he needs to take in, but still he dithers in the corner, unable to quite take it in.

Or alternately, the figure has handed it all in and is walking away :).

Powerful stuff!

I think maybe he's looking as if to say his fortune is in his own hands. then if i look again i come up with something else. mysterious, that's wonderful!
